First, I would like to point out that position one had some descent ideas, but they could not
back it up with lots of evidence. They also could not answer some of the questions fully, such
as when they asked the dragon, "If the world is not meaningful, why do you treasure your gold so much
to the extent that you killed for gold?" I felt that the world could only be meaningful, because things
just don't happen without purpose. Also, the opposition could not react well to the cross examination questions that were asked to the opposing side. A lot of Dragons and Grendels could not expand farther than to what they have prepared.
Also many of the questions that were asked by the lawyer did not make sense.
The quote on quote, " The world is meaningless," is wrong
Especially, people feel that the past is not relevant to the present, but as Hrothgar
pointed out, him knowing about Beowulf's ancestry helped out in the fact that Hrothgar is close to
Beowulf. If Beowulf and Hrothgar did not have a respectable ancestry then the present might have been different, also they would not hold a relationship like they did in the novel. Therefore, the past is relevant to the present, in result the world is meaningful. I believe that Position two, our side, won this trial with a reason that we had myriad quantities of examples and
back-ups that helped to prove our point. In opposition, they might disagree with the fact that we had many examples to back-up our points, but we believe we have shown more than the position one
